OXYCOM Precooll

PreCooll is a modular retrofit system, designed for installation on air-cooled vapor-compression cooling equipment, including chillers, refrigeration units, heat pumps and packaged units. The system is designed to evaporate water at a high efficiency and reduce the temperature of ambient air before it goes through the condenser coils of the cooling equipment.

Providing lower temperature ambient air to the condenser coils allows the cooling equipment’s compressors to work at a lower pressure and the condenser fans to spin at a lower speed, which reduces the amount of energy the cooling unit consumes. Additionally, when the vapor-compression cycle occurs at a lower temperature it becomes more efficient, which increases the cooling capacity of the cooling unit.

An independent laboratory test performed on a large chiller unit with PreCooll retrofitted on it, established that:

• There was an increase in cooling capacity of 0.99% for each °C of pre-cooling

• There was a decrease in power consumption of 0.90% for each °C  of pre-cooling

The OXYVAP® evaporative media, used to cool the ambient air is VDI 6022 hygiene certified, which makes it safe to handle air supplied in areas with human occupants.

PreCooll is a cost effective solution due to the high degrees of energy savings, which ensures that projects typically have a short investment payback period.
